Dr. Aishwarya P. Joshi (she/her) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Vermont, a state-licensed mental health counselor in Ohio, an NBCC board-certified counselor in the U.S., and a board-certified counsellor in India. She brings a decade of experience providing multilingual mental health services nationally and internationally, approaching counseling and counselor education from a global perspective. Dr. Joshi’s scholarly interests include mental health challenges faced by international students and faculty in the U.S., Black women’s experiences in STEM fields, trauma-informed mental health practices, and the ethical integration of AI-based interventions in counseling. She advocates for culturally responsive public policies that promote mental health inclusion and accessibility. Believing mental health awareness, accessibility, and affordability must be addressed worldwide, Dr. Joshi calls on counselors and counselor educators to collaborate collectively and interdependently to advance equitable practices in this helping profession.
